Cycling route from Luen Wo Hui to Queen's Hill

Route | Luen Wo Hui > Lung Yeuk Tau > Queen's Hill
Mention Luen Wo Hui and many people think of Luen Wo Market.
The market opened in 1951, built of concrete, with 60 stalls. Besides the building that still stands, there was also an open-air market.
In 2002 it was replaced by the public Luen Wo Hui Market, and it stopped operating on 26 September the same year.
Luen Wo Market is to be transformed into the House of Urban and Rural Living, promoting local farm produce, with community shops, stalls and occasional markets.

Luen Wo Market has not been transformed yet, but Luen Wo Hui still has plenty of hidden snacks.
Plenty of neighbourhood shops to choose from: corned beef and egg toast, a whole soy-sauce chicken drumstick in a bun, a cheung fun shop that has had people queueing for 20 years, and more.

Before you leave Luen Wo Hui, a reminder: the Luen Wo Hui subway has quite a few bends, and many neighbours walk through it.
Check that your brakes are working before you set off, and ride slowly and carefully on the way down.

You're nearby, so of course you should go onto the Lung Yeuk Tau Heritage Trail for a look.
Last time we covered the southern section with you. This time we take the other side.

Kun Lung Wai, also known as San Wai, is one of the Five Wai of the Tang clan of Lung Yeuk Tau in Fanling, and one of the best-preserved walled villages in the area.
According to the inscription on the stone plaque of Kun Lung Wai's entrance tower, 'Kun Lung, erected on an auspicious day in an auspicious month of the jiazi year of the Qianlong reign', the walls were built in 1744.
To avoid disturbing residents, the interior is not open to the public. And don't leave a LocoBike inside the village!

As you leave along the road, you can already see Queen's Hill Estate in the distance.

When we filmed the first time, part of the Queen's Hill cycle track was still under works.
The second time we went, it was finished.
If you're heading up the hill, you can use the cycle track at the roundabout to join the next section.

A reminder:
For your sake and everyone else's, when the photos and exploring are done, take the LocoBike with you.
