Route | Tai Wai Station > Octopus Footbridge > Tin Sam Village > Hin Keng Station

Tai Wai Station is one of Loco's popular pick-up and drop-off spots. You are more likely to find a LocoBike at Tai Wai Station Exit A and at the Shing Chuen Road bike parking.
But note that this is a busy stretch of the district. Watch for other bikes, and watch for people on foot.

Set off from Exit A of Tai Wai Station, ride towards the Shing Mun River, and near Che Kung Temple drop into the tunnel to the cycle track at Sun Chui Estate on the other side.
Nobody in Tai Wai could fail to know the Octopus Footbridge. It was completed in 1998 and links the estates and the MTR station. It is named for looking like an octopus, and the cycle track on the bridge connects Tai Wai Station, Sun Chui Estate, Hung Mui Kuk Road and Festival City. Watch for pedestrians, and get off and push where the traffic signs tell you to.

Ride down the slope on Hung Mui Kuk Road and turn right at Tin Sam Street. Watch for pedestrians on the cycle track.
Tin Sam Village, at the foot of Amah Rock, was originally called Tin Sam Wai. The village is said to have been built in the late Ming, and it was named because it stood in the middle of the surrounding fields.

After Carado Garden, through the tunnel and the traffic lights, you reach the last long straight of this episode!
There is bicycle parking outside Hin Keng Station. Park the bike properly when you are done.
