Cycling route from Tai Wai to the twin bridges
Loco vlog episode 2

Route | Tai Wai Station > Hong Kong Heritage Museum > Sha Tin Park > Lek Yuen Bridge > Sha Tin Rowing Centre > Sha Tin Racecourse > the twin bridges
Hong Kong Heritage Museum
- Hong Kong Heritage Museum is laid out like a traditional Chinese courtyard house, and it is a general museum.
- Inside are 12 exhibition galleries, each with its own character, covering history, art and culture.
- The museum regularly stages themed exhibitions. See the official website for details.

Sha Tin Park
- Sha Tin Park is a long park, on the stretch from Sha Tin Town Hall to the Shing Mun River.
- It holds several themed gardens, with over 110,000 plants of more than 400 species. The jacarandas are the most famous.
- They bloom every year between April and May, turning the park into a sea of purple flowers.

Lek Yuen Bridge
- Lek Yuen Bridge spans the Shing Mun River in Sha Tin, and it is the landmark of Sha Tin town centre.
- The bridge is decorated with Chinese-style statues and a pavilion.
- To the west it meets the exit of Sha Tin Park; to the east it leads to Sha Kok Estate, Jat Min Chuen and Tai Chung Kiu Road.

The twin bridges
- If you ride around here you already know the twin bridges, so there is little to add. The name means exactly what it says: two bridges right next to each other. The end.
- At dusk, looking both ways at the Shing Mun River and the Ma On Shan shore, a sea of lights feels especially moving.

Things to note |
- The tunnel near the Heritage Museum is narrow and winding. Take care.
- The cycle track along the way is busier, and it is narrower.
