Cycling route from Sam Shing to Mong Hau Shek Fire Station

Route | Sam Shing > Mong Hau Shek Fire Station > Ho Wo Street
Sam Shing Estate, on the southeast shore of Castle Peak Bay, was once a well-known fishing village in Hong Kong. The setting is excellent: a natural typhoon shelter
Besides the hugely popular Sam Shing Estate seafood street, quite a few historic sites and traditional cultural spots remain

When you get to Sam Shing you may wonder: there is only Light Rail route 505, so why is the terminus so big, and sitting empty?
When it was planned, besides the line that runs today it was also meant to be the interchange for the Chi Lok branch and the Gold Coast branch. The government later said there was not enough demand and shelved them. That reserved space has become a sight particular to Sam Shing

Speaking of photo spots, you can hardly leave out Ho Wo Street, lately a favourite on Instagram
Hoi Wong Road in Tuen Mun sits beside the Tuen Mun-Chek Lap Kok Tunnel: a long white seawall, a huge lawn, wide-open sea, and a whole row of palm trees. No wonder the media call it "Hong Kong's Miami"! It is rather out of the way, so do your homework before you go.

A reminder:
Mong Hau Shek Fire Station is the cycle track closest to Ho Wo Street. From there you still have to ride on the road
When the ride is over, check the no-parking zones in the loco app so you avoid a fine
