Cycling route from Pok Yin Road, Pak Shek Kok to University Station

Route |
Yau King Lane, Pak Shek Kok > Science Park > University Station
The 2021 Policy Address proposed studying a new East Rail Line Science Park / Pak Shek Kok Station on the site of the present sports centre of The Education University of Hong Kong.
So this Loco vlog starts on the nearest cycle track - Pok Yin Road.
You may not know that Yau King Lane was once the East Rail alignment. On 4 June 1988 a freight wagon derailed. In 1995 the sharp bend was straightened into today's alignment. Between the east end of Yau King Lane and Cheung Tai Road you can still find the abandoned railway arch bridge.

Right, enough talk.
Let's set off! The moment you set off, you meet the boss... the climb up the big slope.
If you're running short of energy, remember to get off and push the bike when it's safe.

There's a sharp bend at the bottom of the descent. Check that your brakes are working before you set off, and control your speed carefully on the way down.
The cycle track through the Pak Shek Kok residential area has quite a few junctions, but don't worry. You can get back out to the main road at any of them.

This route passes two slopes where accidents often happen. Check that the brakes are working properly before you set off.
Uphill or down, don't stop suddenly, and don't stop inside a tunnel, or you may have an accident.

When you reach Ma Liu Shui, switch to the pedestrian subway to cross to the other side.
This episode of the Loco vlog really is nothing but slopes, and more slopes...
Put some power into it and ride on down!!!

On the way down, note that the left drops into the subway and the right leads to the University Station Cycling Hub.
This time, take the left into the subway.

Do you usually come through this subway?

Before you know it, you're at the end of this episode — University Station.
There's a bike parking area beside University Station. Park properly so the bike is easy to find!
